PureRay has developed a patent pending self-contained, solar-powered LED lighting system with a charging station and rechargeable bulbs designed for use in the off-grid market and the developing world. The charging station is capable of powering rechargeable light bulbs, cell phones, and other small electronic devices.
Today 2.4 billion people use fuel based lighting and of this amount 1.6 billion people live without any access to electricity and another 0.8 billion only have intermittent access to electricity. The market is huge and is located mainly in Africa, South Asia, Caribbean and Latin America.
Investigating the issues of off-grid lighting solution led our engineers to provide power for both PureRay light bulbs and other items, such as cell phones, fans, radios and TV’s. In addition to solar energy, our station can be charged with existing DC or A/C sources.

According to many experts, the single greatest way to reduce greenhouse gases associated with lighting energy use is to replace kerosene lamps with solar powered LED lighting systems in developing countries.
